Summer Toys & Gadgets For Everyone
Hopefully you are now in mid-summer and the family is enjoying long days and lots of fun at the beach, in a pool and reading some new books! I love being able to have the time to stay up later, go to more museums and explore new hiking trails. The kids also like having days at home where they just read, play some games and watch tv. Variety is good to keep them from being bored or being on too much social media. Here are some awesome new products on the market that are great ideas for summer fun for everyone!
Get in the pool! Seriously, it is in the 100’s in California right now. Too hot to be outdoors unless you are in a pool, lake, river or at the beach. Besides that, I’m inside blasting the A/C. These rafts from Kangaroo are sooo awesome. Besides pool fun, they are great for gifts and decent prices too. I love the HUGE Guitar Pool Float! It is 9 FEET long. My daughter picked this one out. It can hold up to 4 adults or 5 kids. The bacon float is great to lounge on and just relax in the pool. Had to pick this one too! My son has the matching pillow I got him for Christmas.
Too hot to go outside or have some down time before bedtime? Grab some popcorn and a card game. I love this new called Utter Nonsense! It is for ages 8+ and can be 4 or 20 players. You can make teams too (easy way to include younger ones). The game includes two types of cards and instructions. Grab your actor friends, or those that just think they can act. Read cards with silly accents as everyone cracks up at the nonsense!
Make some slime! This is fun, easy and kids can not only play with it, they can help make it. You only need three household ingredients. Check out the recipe here.
Find new places to explore. Research museums you have never been to. Discover hidden gems in your area! I love this book called 100 Things To Do In America Before You Die by Bill Cleven. Some ideas are silly, like try different types of barbecue in Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, etc. Others are great, like visiting the world’s tallest mailbox or the vacuum cleaner museum (yes, really). I wish the book was separated by state and not activities but it is still a really cool book.
Have some tub-time fun with Crazy Foam. You can even make teams. I love the foam shooting out of the mouth of the Justice League Heroes. (I remember having these as a kid too). Lots to choose from including Wonder Woman, Batman, My Little Pony, holiday, fairy tale, monsters and more. Can by used for shampoo, body wash and conditioner. Great for the shower or bathtub. Kids can have fun getting clean. It even has a heavenly bubble gum scent.
Have fun with little ones with this non-stop-laughing game called Who Tooted? Play wiht 3-4 players and see who can keep a straight face the longest. Made for ages 6+ and a family friendly game for everyone to enjoy.
Have some Water-Filled-Fun with these two outdoor water balloon toys by Zuru. First is Buncho Balloons. You can fill up 100 water balloons in 60 seconds! Amazingly fast and no mess. No tieing either. The set comes with a launcher too. Throw balloons up to 72 feet with a flick of the wrist. The second one is another way to have fun with water balloons. Zoom Ball Hydro is a game of skills and chance. Put a balloon in the Zoom Ball and launch it back and forth. You never know when the balloon will burst!
Too hot in the city? Get out on the water. Fishing is great for all ages but younger kids might not be able to cast their rod well, often getting it stuck in overhead trees or it not going far enough. Rocket Fishing Rod is a whole new way to fish. No trickiness needed to cast the line. Simply pull back and shoot. You are ready to catch fish! The Safety bobbers have the hook enclosed too, making it safer for children.
The Rocket Fishing Rod is on sale right now on Amazon for $27.99 with free shipping (regular price is $49.99). Enjoy the last weeks of summer having some family fun. You can use this at a lake, on a pier or in a boat. Great to take camping.
For those of you that already have school starting.. SORRY! For those, like us, that have a month left, enjoy it! Get outdoors. Create memories. Cherish the few weeks you have left and make them count!
