What To Pack For The Gym; Single Mom Edition
Going to the gym as a single mom means you aren’t just getting dressed, driving there and working out. You also have to make sure you go during gym day care hours (after you find a gym that has a decent day care), pack a bag for your kid(s), make sure they aren’t hungry, etc.
Here are some idea of what to pack so that you can have a productive workout without being interrupted (like the daycare calling you because your kid is crying).
1- Pack a bag and keep it packed. Even better, keep it in your car. Some things to keep in it: workout clothing, sweat towel, reusable water bottle, sneakers and socks (especially if you wear dressy shoes for work),hair scrunchies to keep your hair pulled back during workout, sports bra. If you are going to put sweaty and smelly clothing back in the bag after your workout than its a great idea to pack Frebeze Fabric To Go extra strength. This fabric refresher is great for keeping your clothing smelling fresh.
2-If you are one to get warm or overheated then check out this awesome Misty Mate. It is great to cool off easily and is small enough to fit in a gym bag. It fits in the hand, holds 3 ozs of water and is great for tennis, yoga other sweaty sports that you might need a little help cooling off .
3- Pack a gym bag for your kids. Let them bring a blankie or sweater, their favorite doll, a book, snacks (if allowed), even a spare change of clothing if the day care does messy crafts. I love these duffel bags by Bixbee. I was able to choose two cute ones, in pink and blue, with adorable emojis and more that kids will love.
4- Kids can bring a lovie with them to give them some comfort. I like the idea of a toy that is special and can be brought out at the gym so that the kids can look forward to the gym. I love this doll by Selma’s Dolls. Her name is Ameena. Not only is she super cute but I love how these dolls celebrate how we don’t all look the same or dress the same. The dolls come with a book too. Made for ages 2+ but older kids can play with them too.
What things do you put in your ‘go to the gym’ must haves?
