3 Ways to Expand Your Horizons from Home
It’s challenging to experience what the world has to offer when our worlds have suddenly become so small. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how we live our lives. Travel, especially for pleasure, has become limited as we continue to stick close to home.
In times like these, it’s critical to stay productive. If you’ve found yourself restless and bored, here are three ways that you can expand your horizons from home.

If you’ve found yourself with more free time than ever before, now is the time to finally learn something new. Do you have a folder full of saved recipes that you’ve always wanted to try? Why not try them now? With unlimited access to your kitchen, you can spend some of your time expanding your culinary skills. Go through your folder or a cookbook and choose a recipe. You can also watch tutorials online. Make sure to include all the necessary ingredients on your next trip to the grocery store (or have the ingredients delivered if you can’t get to the store). Not only will you hone your cooking (or baking) skills, but you’ll also have some delicious food, too!
Take a Trip (from Your Sofa)
Just because you can’t physically visit another state or country for real, that doesn’t mean you can’t travel. One way to go somewhere new is to read a book set in a place you’ve always wanted to see. You can learn about different places and all of the interesting and unique things that they have to offer. Look at pictures and read articles. As you venture into different parts of the world, use your virtual travel as an opportunity to plan a future trip. Take notes on specific things you’d like to see and do. Keep a list of museums, restaurants, and any other places of interest. When you’re able to travel again, you’ll have most (if not all) of your trip planned out.

Sticking close to home doesn’t mean that you have to be relegated to the same things you do every day. These are just a few ways that you can learn new things, explore new places, and expand your horizons, all from the safety of your house.
