Treating Myself For Christmas: Single Mom Life
Its that time of year. Thanksgiving just passed, now it is Christmas then New Years. Valentine’s Day is next. I’ve dated on and off but have been single for over 13 years. To me my first priority in life is my kids. They are more important than some guy, especially one that isn’t good enough to be around my kids. So, have I met some doozies? Yes, most definite. I’ll share those in a different post. But having said that, I will not date someone, ever, that isn’t worth dating. Not even ‘just for fun.’ I don’t have time. I would rather be with my kids or catch up with some friends.
Do I feel Like I Am Missing Out?
Sometimes I feel like I’m missing out. I’ll admit it. But I’m not holding back either. I’m not waiting for someone else to balance my life. It sucks when friends do ‘couples things’ or when I feel like I’m invited over to dinner when I am dating ‘as a couples thing’ more than when I’m single. But that doesn’t mean missing out. There is a lot in life I do regardless of a relationship. Dine out. Take trips with the kids. I even buy flowers for myself. Why? Because I love flowers.
Christmas Flowers For Me!
I got this super cute bouquet from Teleflora, delivered to my door. It looks so cute on my kitchen table and the vase is adorable to keep for the next flowers I buy. This bouquet is called Hug Bear Buddy Bouquet. The flowers are gorgeous red & white roses, red berries, pine cones and more. Don’t wait for others to bring you happiness!
I love flowers so I buy myself flowers!
They smell as great as they look too!
Take trips. Even day trips. I love to go for walks, watch my son fish, go to my daughter’s track meets, etc. Every time we are in a new place I like to explore the city and see the sites.
I spend money on the kids all the time. They are always my priority. But I do like to get presents, so I’m happy with buying them for myself. I saw this on sale (extra win) at Macy’s on clearance for only $6 so I had to buy it.

Personal Heat & Massage At Home
Nothing like a little R&R. This is not the same as a full body massage at a parlor but it is a nice substitute for a massage at home. Shipped to me from Hammacher Schlemmer. I can lay it on my bed and have some time to unwind. Even if it is only 5 or 10 minutes. I feel spoiled getting it for myself.
Holidays with being a single mom don’t define me. I’m a mom. We celebrate holidays. We celebrate holidays and cherish them as a family… A family of three.
