Quality Time With Family At Lunch

Lunch for two specials are a great way to dine out while on a dime.  I like taking just one friend or family member so we can have some one-on-one time to chat and catch up.  Recently I took my stepdad and we dined at Black Angus.  It is in a city 15 minutes away and I can’t believe I’ve driven by going to my grandma’s house but never dined here before.  The restaurant met all of the things on my ‘list’ so I’ll definitely be back.  I love eating out (and do it too much for my budget) so when I do eat out I’m picky about where I go.  I have my own criteria on places to pick.  My list includes:

• Places I have never been. 
• They must have amazing food. 
• Without a doubt- reasonable prices.
• Places with great atmosphere.
• Good service is a must too.

We got an appetizer sampler and after eating this were almost too full for the main course.  I was dying to try to potato skins.  Everything else was fantastic too!  I love getting sampler plates to get a little bit of everything and this one hit the spot.  It was my first time having shrimp in an appetizer sampler and it fit in nicely with all the other foods.

We had a nice selection to choose from and chose the burgers for National Cheeseburger Day. They have a decent selection of cheeseburgers and I chose one with bacon.  Their burgers and huge and juicy and are all angus meat.  The burger also came with fries and I had ranch on the side (yum)! I think that is a California thing to dip fries in ranch.

That holiday has now passed but Black Angus has other amazing deals for dining with a guest or with a large party.   They also have a sports bar area.  Great for a place to have a beer and enjoy sports on large tvs surrounding the area.

I always like adding a salad to my meal and eating it first.  The shredded carrots were awesome on the salad and so was the cabbage and fresh tomatoes.

Here is the cheeseburger my stepdad ordered!  I’m not a huge onion fan but when they are grilled they taste amazing.  Yes, I tried his burger too!

The dessert options were small but all of them look amazing.  I settled on the cheesecake (because YUM!) and wasn’t disappointed.  It was so sweet and moist. It melted in my mouth and each bite was full of flavor.  I love how they make everything in house and are baking and cooking daily.  The passion they chefs and kitchen staff put into each dish shows their pride in their meals and workplace.

I had a wonderful time at Black Angus.  The staff was knowledgeable and I enjoyed quizzing the manager on the menu selection.  It was nice to hear he has worked at the same location over a decade because he loves what he does.  The food was hot, fresh and fast.  The company was priceless!  Can’t wait to go back again.  I have been dying to try the lobster mac & cheese and the seasonal pumpkin bread pudding!
