Paradise Falls Hike in Thousand Oaks
I’ve wanted to go hiking to Paradise falls for a very long time. In fact it has been a few years. I heard there was ‘a place to go hiking with a gorgeous waterfall’ and I wanted to go. Only thing was I wasn’t exactly sure how to get there. It was my friend’s birthday and we had no plans to I decided to make it a fun day! I ordered some sandwiches ahead of time and a few of us, with vague directions and a GPS set off to find it. We got there in about 25 minutes and found there were a lot of open trails, most well-maintained, and a dirt parking lot. We put on sunscreen, grabbed our food and water and set off. *Directions at the bottom of this post.
The entrance shows an endless trail with a vast mountain range.
We weren’t sure exactly where to go but went forward! There were quiet a few people at the trailhead including a group of cub scouts, some artists sitting on a hill painting and a few girls selling lemonade. We walked past them and stayed on the main road. The whole area is called Wildwood Park.

I got these awesome Lugz Boots for a review and decided to put them to the test. I know it is good to break them in but I wanted to try them out. They fit well, kept my feet clean and dry and the traction on the bottom as excellent on the steep hills. This model is called the Brigade Fleece. They are water resistant, have 100% wool lining and flexastride memory foam.
There were a few signs letting us know where to go. We went left, towards the Tee Pee (never knew it was there) and Paradise Falls. Next time we’ll have to check out Lizard Rock.
Gorgeous day to celebrate Lisa’s birthday. We made it to the falls. We hiked in from the top-side, so were able to see the water as it came down a stream into the rocks. The ground was a little muddy and swampy in certain parts but the Lugz Boots kept my feet protected.
Can’t believe this how beautiful it was. There was quiet a few people around. For more peacefulness mid-week would be better. Just before the falls there was a picnic table. Not much shade but perfect for a water break and to eat our lunch.
Paradise Falls in Wildwood Park, Thousand Oaks
Here is the Tee Pee. It is quiet large with seating area in an arena-style underneath of it. There was also a drinking fountain with cold water. The park is dog-friendly but they need to be kept on a leash. It is considered a moderate hike according to LocalHikes.com and is about 3 miles round trip. There is not much shade on the hike so be sure to wear sunscreen and bring plenty of water. The walk in is mostly down hill, so be prepared for the uphills on the way back out. There was a small trail down, last the waterfall too, that we did not explore as well as other marked and unmarked trails closer to the main path. The grounds are very well maintained and were easy to walk on. If you have the endurance a baby jogger would be fine to push on the trail.
Directions: From the 23 Freeway take Avenida de Los Arboles exit and go right. Follow the road until it ends at Big Sky Drive. Do a U-Turn and the park entrance is on the right side. There is a dirt parking lot available as well as street parking.Addiction can really corrode away the ability to communicate the innermost feelings http://cute-n-tiny.com/page/33/ cheap levitra of an addict.
