New Book Releases For October
I love reading and I think it is important for children of all ages to have easy access to books. For some that means an abundance of books at home, on shelves and end tables. For others, that means books from the public library. Regardless, it is important to get children interested in books at a young age and encourage an interest in reading. As we grow the importance of reading doesn’t end. There is always books that help expand the mind, are a good escape, educate. This book selection is a random set of new books I received. Books For Young Readers
Hamster Princess; Ratpunzel. This is the third book in the Hamster Princess series by Ursula Vernon. Grade levels 3-7 (but I’d say more 3-5). Chapter book & has a few pictures in it. Just released 10/18/16.
EnchanTails. Set of mermaid books by Enchantails.com They also make mermaid tails sleeping bags and have posters, stickers and more. These three books are titled: Tasi and The Danger of the Deep, Kelani’s Secret Island and Lucienne and the Leopard Boy. These are short chapter books ranging in 80-85 pages long.
Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Unlock the Weird edition. Great for reluctant readers. Lots of random facts and freaky stories with color photos. The book is hardcover and 256 pages. My kids love these books. This book can be enjoyed at any age. My son has been reading them for about 10 years now and still enjoys them.
The Secrets to Ruling School: Class Election. By Neil Swaab. If you like Diary of a Wimpy Kid or that type of genre you’ll love this book. Book two in a middle school series. Light reading with lots of humor.
Books For Older Children & Adults
Geeky Lego Crafts. 21 Fun and Quirky Projects.
This is an awesome book full of Lego projects. Each craft has photos, visual instructions broken down in easy-to-follow steps, difficulty rankings for each one and each project even details the bricks needed, size and color. I think it is still important to learn more, even beginner steps, to know the fundamentals of drawing. This book is great for children, teens and adults to learn how to grid draw, understand body proportions, drawing without looking at the paper, etc. The book has assignments and exercise too for students to learn how to draw better.
