I’ve tried to cook with tofu a few times and have always failed miserably. It crumbles, has too much water or is flavorless. Well, I came across the EZ Tofu Press and you can see the recipe below. It was easy to use, removed a TON of water from my tofu and all the pieces were firm and intact with plenty of flavor.
This is what the EZ Tofu Press Looks like. It is simple and easy.
It works with almost all tofu brands and sizes of firm and extra firm tofu.
This is my tofu before. You can see it is dripping with moisture. I had even frozen and defrosted it first (this helps get some of the water out).
I opened up the EZ Tofu Press, put my block of tofu in and held it over a plate while twisting the knobs tight.
A Top-side view. Basic instructions: Pressing can be achieved in 15 minutes or less. Prep food and marinade while turning the knobs every 2 minutes over a 10-15 minute time frame.
This is how much water came out of it. I poured it from the plate to the measuring cup.
If has a guage too, so you can measure how much pressure is being applied.
So, now the recipe. I finely chopped some green onions and one clove of fresh garlic.

I randomly picked out these ingredients from my fridge (ones that I thought would taste good for a marinade). Zesty Italian, Orange seasoning (I bought it on accident, thinking it was soy sauce), Rice Vinegar and Soy Sauce.
I mixed these in with the onion and garlic.
Next I dry-toasted the tofu. I’ve never done this before but my SIL told me to do it. I had nothing in the pan except for the tofu and I stirred it around until it was golden brown.
Once the tofu was done I let it cool off and dumped it into the bowl with the marinade, covered it and put it in the fridge overnight.
The next night (Monday) I got out my Wak. I heated it up with some olive oil (it smokes more than other oils but was all I had in the house).
I dumped the tofu and marinate all into the wok and cooked it up.
This is the finished dinner. Mac & Cheese on the left and wild rice mixed with white rice and tofu on top.

This was a delicious meal that I did most of the work for on Sunday. The kids loved it and didn’t complain about the tofu being watery. Right now you can find Ez Tofu Press on Amazon for $26.99 with FREE Shipping. The press is easy to clean, dry and store.

I’m not big on Tofu (never tried it) but this actually makes me want to check it out! And did I see corn in your Mac N Cheese?? I do that too!! My kids love the sweet crunch they get when it’s like that! I sometimes add a pound of ground beef to my mac and cheese and corn mixture for a full easy meal!
