Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches
I got this recipe from FoodStirs. It is an awesome monthly subscription box, full of almost all of the ingredients needed to create fun masterpieces you can eat. I had to add an egg, butter, lemon and the ice cream to create these delicious desserts. 8 1/2×11 recipe cards with great detail to instructions for kids and tips were included as well as a few other cards, including a recipe for Lemon Crusted Chicken. A healthy dinner recipe to have before the ice cream cookie sandwiches.
Dry Ingredients
Each one is prepackaged and labeled. For these cookies the box included:
- Flour.
- Baking soda.
- Baking powder.
- Sugar.
- Sprinkles.
- Salt.
- Green food dye (this was to make the cookies look like a clover for Saint Patrick’s Day but we made them too late so didn’t use the dye).
The tools needed were a ruler (but we eye-balled it) and a spatula.
FoodStirs has other recipe kits including brownies, scones and cakes.
We used Davidson’s Eggs for the cookies. The eggs are free-range and organic.
We followed the instructions and made the cookies and then baked them and let the cool off. Once cooled off it was time to make them into ice cream sandwiches and add the sprinkles. The instructions include the mentioning of when an adult should be assisting, like cutting with a sharp knife or using the oven.
