Easter is here, summer is on the horizon and right now is a great time to plan ahead, shopping for baskets, car trip ideas for kids, boredom busters and Easter basket gift ideas for all ages. It is also a weather change, with summer on the horizon, meaning more time outdoors, beach days and sunburns. I have a mixed age group this year, from younger nieces and nephews to my kids being older teens. I’ve been in charge of the Easter baskets since my mom got sick and it is a new family tradition that I took them over.

Design & Destroy journal. This is a fun teen book. Especially for ones that have a hard time writing (either writers block or kids that hate writing). The book has fun writing prompts on each page and the owner can write, color and do other random things on the pages (ie rub fingers with food on them, burn the page *Safely, melt an ice cube on the page, etc).
I Heard Your Feelings Conversation Cards. Since I’m teaching and doing a lot of troubled kids and special ed I wanted these cards in case I’m teaching lower grades. These cards are conversation starters to help children identify emotions and have conversations about them. The kit has 48 flash cards (picture on one side and questions on the back) and two parent cards. I’m also loving these Scratch Paper Stickers by eeBoo. I’ve seen similar ones before and did them with my kids. But those ones were blank paper you scratched. I like that these ones have a picture that the kids are creating (otherwise it sometimes looks like a scratchy-scribble). The bamboo stick is included. You might want to plan ahead and buy a few of these!
Puzzles have taken on a HUGE interest since Covid. Not 100% sure why. They are something we always did growing up and now they are a family favorite. My grandma even likes doing them, since she has so much free time. I picked these two because they reminded me of nature and outdoors. The first is a round puzzle (I haven’t done a round one before) and is called Organic Harvest. The second is called Songbirds Tree. It looks hard (and is 1,000 pieces) between the colors of the birds and flowers. It definitely is going to be a challenge but looks fun. I love that they are made out of 90% recycled material and with vegetable inks.
