A bit of advice is not to wait too long to get back in to the dating scene, you may get set in your ways and then it can be difficult to fit someone into your life.

As a rule of thumb, I would advise taking at least a year after a divorce just to recreate yourself and get your life in order. Also, when there are kids involved this will give them time to get accustomed to the changes and also give you a chance to have one on one time with them and help them adjust to a situation where their parents are now living separately. Having this “break” may help singles relax and enjoy life for a while, especially if they are recovering from a difficult marriage.
