7 Tips For Thinning Hair
I never knew thinning hair was something I’d experience as a woman. I know men go bald or have thinning hair, but it is all new for me to have this happening.
Summer is here and that means people will be outdoors more, in the pool, at the beach, on bike rides and more. Wanting full, beautiful hair isn’t impossible but there are some great tips so help make your hair fuller and to protect it from the elements. I’ve noticed a difference using Nioxin products on my hair and by making sure I’m taking better care of my hair and my body. I was told once that the health of our whole body often shows in the hair, skin and nails and I’ve noticed this is true, especially in my 40’s. I’m diabetic so I’ve noticed when my blood sugar is consistently higher I have drier skin on my body and on my scalp. A friend told me when her diet was very poor her hair was more brittle. Our hair can reflect the health of our body.
My Thinning Hair… My Part Line
When I’m outside at a track and field meet, working in the garden or at the pool I get sunburnt on my partline. This never happened when I was younger. In fact I’ve been noticing it for about two years now. It happens where my bangs part line is and sometimes the scalp line under my bangs. I put sunscreen everywhere when I go out and now put it on my partline. But I hate doing it because it makes my hair tangled and messy. I get too hot wearing hats all day too. It is frustrating, to say the least. I started trying Nioxin products a few weeks ago on my hair. They make special products for different hair types. Mine is normal-to-thin-looking hair that has been color treated.
Nioxin has a Hair System Kit, bodifying foam, night density rescue and more. I’m starting to see some improvement in how thick my hair is and that reflects on the ‘gap’ in my partline. I’m very excited about this.
Seven Tips For Thinning Hair:
- Try hair products that work to repair your hair and help with the thinning.
- Use hair products, like Bodifying Foam, to make hair look thicker and fuller.
- Use a silk pillowcase on your bed. Cotton absorbs moisture and will dry out your hair. Having a silk pillowcase keeps your hair and scalp from drying out.
- When going in a pool or the ocean apply clean tap water to your hair first. This makes it where your hair molecules absorb the clean water and there is less room for the chlorine or salt to get in a and damage your hair.
- Be healthy. Exercise, eat well, take vitamins. Beauty on the inside will reflect on the outside.
- When going out in the sun for long time periods put hair in a braid (if long enough), bun, french twist, etc. If your hair is tight and bound the moisture will stay in and your hair will be less dry and frizzy.
- Use Night Density Rescue each night. It is proven to promote hair density in three months and is easy and quick to use. I apply it when I brush my teeth for bed each night.
