4 Ways Your Kids Can Lose Their Grades! – Limit Screen Time
Kids these days love their smartphones and tablets. While they are a means for staying connected with

work. Often they are too tired to do their homework or prepare for an exam. As a result, they can fall
behind in their class.
Here are different commotions that cause them to ignore their work:
Social Media
Social media is a major cause of addiction. Throughout the day we have this constant nagging to check if
there is a new notification or any new update. We have developed a fear of missing out. Consequently,
we can’t stay away from the social media websites. Once we start scrolling down that screen, an hour
can pass by in an instant. Then there isn’t just one site! There are numerous social media networks and
kids like to be on each one. Each one has its own high points. Studies show that 24 % teenagers stay
online all of the time and 56% go online several times a day.
Gaming
Gone are the days when kid’s played video games in the living room only, well they still can, but they
can also easily play them on their phones. You play one level and then another, soon you want to
complete all the levels and you can’t find enough time. Sure they are good for brain development but
most of the time they just keep you hooked to your devices and you are unable to do other stuff.
Calls and Texting
According to PEW Research Centre 54% teenagers, text and 38% talk daily. 15% of teens send more than
200 texts a day. This is also a distraction which keeps them from doing their work.
Lack of Sleep
Kids have their phones in the bedrooms. They stay up late talking or texting. Even if they try to sleep the
constant alerts and notifications disturbs their sleep. Same goes for gaming. As a result, they stay tired
in the morning unable to concentrate in the class. Lack of sleep can also cause constant tiredness,

Make rules
Make rules about how much time they can play games or spend time on social media. Make it a rule to
only use their devices for few hours and keep them off during study periods or at night. If you make

thank you for the article! Totally agree with it. Kids are constantly distracted with their devices, sometimes I even doubt they see the world behind their phones and tablets. We tried talking, but they just don’t understand it, a lot of parents are addicted to their devices, but kids are much more addictive and much less responsible (they are only children). Our daughter’s teacher also recommended us to use parental control app – Kidslox. Right now life got a little bit easier, my daughter has 2 hours of time per day to use her device, and she can decide when to do it. Finally we have normal family dinners again. Maybe later I will set it up for my husband and myself as well (no jokes).

I’ve never heard of Kidslox. We tried Teensafe.com and it is FANTASTIC but my son kept hacking it and getting it removed from his phone. A friend recently told me about one called OurPact. I haven’t tried it yet.

Kidslox is a very good app. I use it as well. The price is very low and the functionality is just superb. Most of all I like setting a time limit per day) This helps me discipline my kid. Now we have family screen time rules. I tried OurPact, too complicated…
