Cajun & Blues Music Festival
The Simi Valley Cajun & Blues Music Festival is just around the corner. What a great way to start off our summer!
5005 Los Angeles Ave, Simi Valley. Saturday 10-8pm & Sunday 10am-6pm.
Grab your family, lots of sunscreen and head over to this fun two-day festival. Most people go both days, seeing all the awesome bands playing. This is a fun event for local residents and for people from in nearby communities.
Want some fun facts, tidbits and trivial about the Cajun & Blues Music Festival? Regulars might not be too impressed, might want to comment below with their own unique facts, ones I might not know.
- There will be two stages. Both playing live bands. A blues stage and a Cajun stage. You can even wonder back and forth between both.
- This is the 30th Anniversary of the festival! It started in 1989 and has blossomed from there.
- This is a non-profit event with proceeds going to a few dozen local and international groups.
- People go out of their way to dress in crazy outfits! Most are super friendly too. Check out my Instagram stories on those days.. I’ll be asking random people to take pictures with me.
- You’ll find food here you can’t get anywhere else in Simi Valley. Fresh French baguettes (my first time having them were at last year’s festival and they are to-die-for! Eat them while they are still hot! The boiled crawfish, alligator on a stick, jambalaya, gumbo and more.
- You can buy the official shirt online and have it to wear at the event. There is five designs to choose from.
- Dwayne Dopsie & The Zydeco Hellraisers is a MUST SEE band! Don’t miss seeing them.
- You can save money by buying tickets ahead of time. Private backstage bar for Superticket holders – first two beverages are included. You can also buy unlimited wristbands for the kids area.
- You can bring your own food and drinks (lots of water is a great idea). You can also bring chairs or blankets. Personally, I like roaming around. There will be lots of vendors there too. Henna, clothing, homemade items and more.
- 16 bands will be playing (some on both days). You can get a program or see it online. Some bands play on both days. Music starts at 11:45am on both days, both stages.
