Since we homeschcool we are sometimes given the opportunity to learn in out-of-the-box ways. Less mainstream and less ‘kill and drill.’ I want my kids to enjoy learning as much as possible so that they retain what they learn better and so they don’t hate school. I was recently given the opportunity to pick something from Learning Resources and I found something I’d been looking for without knowing a name. You see, both of my kids ‘mostly’ know their times tables, but not 100%. Not as much as I want them to. So when I found the Tri-Facta game by Learning Resources I knew it was a great way to drill multiplication and division while making it fun.
This game is for 2-4 players and recommended for grade 3rd and above. It isn’t hard to learn and is a fun way to win while learning.
Players are encouraged to use multiplication and division skills to get rid of all of their cards. The one that has zero cards wins. The game board in green and purple is easy to see and eye appealing for a game.
For new players or younger children the wild cards can be left out of the game.
Kids are learning Fact Families with the Fact Triangle game board.
So, if they know 3×4 is 12 and 4×3 is 12 then 12/4 is 3, right? It is all about understanding the relationship in the numbers.
You don’t have to homeschool to get this game. Use it as a supplementary to regular school work, play it on Family Game Night, if you are a teacher you can use it in your classroom. This game is for anyone wanting to get their times tables down pat and understood.
