Discover Amsterdam’s famous flower market
A visit to Amsterdam wouldn’t be complete without a trip to one of the city’s diverse markets. Head to Bloemenmarkt, along the Singel and you’ll find Amsterdam’s most famous flower market – it’s the best place to buy tulips! You can find a wealth of delicious, traditional cheeses and lots of other local produce that’s a treat for all the senses!
Jump on a bike and get cycling
Cycling is at the heart of this vibrant city and there’s no better way to view it than by bike! There are plenty of places to hire bikes throughout the city and you’ll find cycle lanes and paths throughout the city itself. Or, if you’re serious about your cycling experience then why not join a cycling, guided tour of Amsterdam! Just remember to follow the rules of the road and be respectful to other road users!
Head to the Iconic Red-Light District
I’m serious! It’s not as seedy as it sounds. Amsterdam’s Red-Light District is more of a miniature Las Vegas then a den of impropriety. From cheesy sex shops, to late night, risqué shows and museums dedicated to the art of sex – it’s not to be missed! And certainly not easy to forget!
The Anne Frank Museum
If you’re looking for a little contemplation or reflection, or simply want to marvel at the story of a little girl that captivated the entire world, then head to the Anne Frank Museum. Hiding for over two years with her family in their canal side home during the Second World War, fearing persecution and death from the Nazis. Discover the hidden entrance behind the bookcase and the exhibition dedicated to her life as well as the tragic history of the Jewish community during this troubled time. Arrive early in the morning or later on in the evening to avoid the long queue which often stretches along the canal.
Discover Amsterdam’s bars
Sit and have a drink with the locals and soak up some authentic Netherland hospitality. With an incredible range of spirits and local ales to choose from – simply ask what they’d recommend! You won’t be thirsty for long when you head to Amsterdam!
